With an Exchange you will only need 4GB to handle the load and you can still install BES Express, run Imaging backups and you can even install a software based spam blocker if you like and you will have RAM to spare.

In real life few companies can afford to have dedicated servers for a single purpose and HERE is when things get really bad for fellows like us that are trying to at least have an Exchange Server with some other software running like BES, SQL server, etc..
